KING CRUISER WRECK

Advanced divers only

P4030062.JPG

This 85 meters passenger ferry sank on the 4th of May 1997 after hitting the only navigational hazard within hundreds of sea miles: Anemone Reef. Fortunately, all passengers survived and were saved by nearby fishing and diving boats.

The King Cruiser make an ideal wreck dive, as the top deck of the boat is at 16 - 18 meters with the maximum depth not exceeding 35 meters. Plenty of marine life such as big schools of batfish, lionfish, barracudas, nudibranches, yellow snappers, soft corals, scorpionfish and more has chosen the wreck as their residential suite.

Despite wide open passage ways and open passenger decks, which provide a very safe wreck environment, careful movements and preparation is the essence when diving here.
