The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed for certified divers who want to go beyond the basics, dive deeper, improve their skills, and gain confidence underwater. With the guidance of our experienced instructors, you’ll complete five adventure dives tailored to your interests, including deep diving, navigation, and exciting specialty dives. Whether you want to explore shipwrecks, master buoyancy, or dive at night, this course is all about learning through adventure!

The course also includes a Theoretical Exam (if the student has completed the e-learning it will be a Quick Review with the instructor, if not it will be a comprehensive Knowledge Review and a Quick Exam)

PREREQUISITES:
- Minimum age is 12 years old (Junior Advanced Open Water)
- PADI Open Water Certification
- Medical clearance may be required if needed (in case of specific diseases, physical conditions, and/or medical treatment).

E-LEARNING INDIPENDENT STUDY
DIVE INTO THEORY AT YOUR OWN PACE
Before jumping into the water, you’ll complete the PADI eLearning module from the comfort of your home, hotel, or even the beach! This online study covers the key principles behind deep diving, navigation, and the specialty dives you choose. It’s flexible, so you can study at your own pace and spend more time diving once you’re ready to begin your adventure.
DAY 1 - KOH RACHA YAI & NOI
GAIN CONFIDENCE IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT
Your first three adventure dives take place in the crystal-clear waters of Racha Yai & Racha Noi, known for gentle conditions and great visibility—the perfect training ground for developing new skills.

✔ Underwater Navigation Dive – Learn to use a compass and natural landmarks to find your way like a pro.

DAY 2 - PHI PHI ISLANDS
STUNNING DIVE SITES FOR DEEP ADVENTURES
Day two takes your skills to the next level with three incredible dives at the world-famous Phi Phi Islands, where dramatic limestone cliffs meet vibrant coral reefs and rich marine life.
✔ Deep Dive – Safely explore depths of up to 30 meters (100 feet) and experience the effects of pressure at greater depths.
✔ Second Elective Adventure Dive – Pick another specialty dive from the list below to make your course unique to your interests.
✔ One last fun dive or practice more skills with your instructor!
As you complete your final dives, you’ll gain confidence, refine your skills, and unlock the ability to explore more of the ocean than ever before

ABOUT THE BOAT
23.8 METERS DIVING BOAT
A 23.8-meter steel-hulled vessel designed specifically for scuba diving adventures. Powered by twin Diesel HINO engines totaling 620 horsepower, it ensures both reliability and efficiency on the water.
With a breadth of 5.5 meters, the Mermaid comfortably accommodates divers, providing ample space for relaxation and gear preparation.
Operating seven days a week, the Mermaid combines stability, comfort, and performance, delivering an unparalleled diving experience for all aboard.

What is the PADI Advanced Open Water course?
The Advanced Open Water Course (AOWC) is the next step after Open Water, designed to build confidence and expand your diving skills. You’ll complete five adventure dives, including a Deep Dive (30m/100ft) and an Underwater Navigation Dive, plus three elective dives of your choice!
How long does the course take?
The course typically takes two days, but we offer flexible scheduling if you want to spread out your dives over multiple days.
What are the requirements to enroll?
- PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent from another agency).
- Minimum age: 12 years old (Junior AOWC for ages 12-14, max depth 21m).
- Good health – You’ll need to complete a medical questionnaire before diving.
Do I need my own equipment?
No, we provide all necessary scuba gear during the course. However, if you have personal gear like a mask or fins and prefer to use them, feel free to bring them along!”
What should I bring for my dive trip?
We provide everything you need, including dive gear, a wetsuit, and meals/snacks on board. Just bring: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen (reef-safe), dry change of clothes and good mood!
Can I fly after diving?
Yes, but you need to wait! For single dives, wait at least 12 hours before flying. For multiple dives or liveaboards, wait at least 18 hours to avoid decompression sickness. Use this time to relax and explore Phuket!
Can I dive if I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes! If you wear contact lenses, you can dive as usual. If you have glasses, we offer prescription masks so you can see clearly underwater. Just let us know in advance!
Can I take this course right after my Open Water Diver certification?
Yes! There’s no waiting period, and many divers take the Advanced Open Water Course right after Open Water to increase their confidence and experience.
Can I enroll in the course if I didn't dive in a while?
Yes of course! If you didn’t dive for a while we strongly recommend doing our refresher course or the PADI reactivate program before starting the course.
