The PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program is a one-time diving experience designed for kids aged 10 and above, allowing them to breathe underwater and explore the reef with an instructor—without needing a certification. Conducted in shallow water, this experience is perfect for kids who are curious about scuba diving and want to try it before committing to a full course!

The course also includes a Theoretical Exam (if the student has completed the e-learning it will be a Quick Review with the instructor, if not it will be a comprehensive Knowledge Review and a Quick Exam)

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience includes full scuba gear rental, a detailed briefing and skill practice led by a PADI Instructor, and supervised dives in the ocean or from Kata Beach. With max 2 student per instructor, each child gets a safe, fun, and unforgettable first dive experience!

Getting Ready for an Underwater Adventure

Before jumping in, kids will get a fun, easy-to-understand introduction to scuba diving. Our PADI Instructor will explain how the equipment works, how to breathe underwater, and basic hand signals—ensuring they feel excited, comfortable, and ready to dive!

Shallow Water Practice

Building Confidence Before the Big Dive

In a calm, shallow area, kids will practice breathing through a regulator, clearing their mask, and equalizing their ears—all at their own pace. This hands-on session boosts confidence and makes sure they feel completely at ease before heading into open water.

Guided Open Water Dive

A First Dive They’ll Never Forget!

Now it’s time for the real adventure! With a PADI Instructor by their side, kids will explore a beautiful coral reef, swim alongside tropical fish, stingrays, and maybe even a sea turtle! This first dive is all about fun, discovery, and experiencing the magic of the underwater world.

A 23.8-meter steel-hulled vessel designed specifically for scuba diving adventures. Powered by twin Diesel HINO engines totaling 620 horsepower, it ensures both reliability and efficiency on the water.

With a breadth of 5.5 meters, the Mermaid comfortably accommodates divers, providing ample space for relaxation and gear preparation.

Is PADI Discover Scuba Diving a certification?

No, it’s a one-time experience designed to introduce kids to scuba diving. To get certified, they can upgrade to the PADI Junior Open Water Course with some extra training and teaching.

Do kids need to know how to swim?

They should feel comfortable in the water, but no formal swimming skills are required. The experience takes place in shallow, calm water.

What’s the difference between Bubblemaker and Discover Scuba Diving?

Bubblemaker is for kids aged 8+ in shallow water (max 2m/6ft), while DSD is for ages 10+, allowing them to dive deeper (max 12m/40ft) in the ocean.

Can parents join the experience?

Yes! Parents who are certified divers can join the dive, or they can snorkel alongside and watch.
